We had a smaller Dimplex stove that sold with our home last year. We missed it in our living room! So this one is an upgrade replacement that is even more realistic. We use it for effect at this time. If electricity gets too expensive, we'll use it to add warmth to the living area of the house.

My stove came last week, and I'm quite pleased with its quality and prospective versatility. I expect to use the heater a lot this winter in our farm house kitchen/dining (zone) area,and my initial experience with it has all been positive. I really like the weight of it; I didn't want a tinny piece that I'd have to hide away in the off season. The flame effect is just awesome, and this feature will be enjoyed year-round. I read a lot of reviews before taking the plunge (this is an expensive item), and I'm delighted with this purchase. Looking forward to a cozy holiday season with my new friend Celeste. I've awarded four of five stars only because I haven't had my new stove very long.

Service and delivery comments:

I can't say enough about the customer service and delivery. At the first (!) delivery, this wonderful man brought the box to my back door and said, "I hear glass, let's open the box." Sure enough, the glass "window" of the stove had shattered in transit. No problem: customer service promptly arranged for another delivery, this time a winner.

I actually have 2 of these little stoves one black and one creme. They are very attractive and can fit any room because their not that big.

As far as heat, they give off enough to reduce using my baseboard heaters. I did due diligence and most of the bigger fireplaces don't give off anymore heat than these little stoves!!

What a delight! [...] They brought the stove out on my wife's day off. They found our house on the first try (not easy).The stove works great! Looks good, heats our dining room very well and the remote control is wonderful. The description makes it sound like all the remote does is turn the unit on and off, but the on button is a 3-way switch. Hit it once for flame, twice for flame & fan and 3 times for heat and flame.This is a first class unit and I highly recommend it. Our last electric stove was made by Muskoka. It was cute, but it was a piece of junk. They replaced it 3 times and when the 3rd unit failed they told us the warranty had run out on the first stove so we were out of luck. I couldn't believe it... My advice? Go first class with Dimplex and Hayneedle and don't look back. You won't have to.
