To use gel fuel in your fireplace:

1. Remove the paper label from the outside of each can (you can use up to three cans at a time).
2. Gently pry the lid open with a lid opener or a flat screwdriver and remove. Set the lid(s) aside; you can replace the lid on the can and reuse any leftover fuel at a later time.
3. Place the can(s) of gel behind the log(s).
4. Use long fireplace matches or a long grill lighter to ignite the gel fuel.
